Here's a tasty soup recipe that will make use of your homegrown tomatoes. Eat it straightaway or freeze for later.
Salt and pepper
Boil around three kgs of tomatoes, three large onions, a small stick of celery, one teaspoon of pepper, one and a half tablespoons of salt, one cup of sugar and six sprigs of parsley together until the tomatoes are soft.
Then mix together in your kitchen whizz. Next melt 100gms of butter and add four tablespoons of flour to make a smooth batter.
Add the batter to the tomatoes slowly and cook for a further five mintues until thickens. Serve with a dollop of sour cream or pour into containers and freeze.
